Well, I moved back to London in August 2008. I say move back because I was born here and left at a very young age. I would frequently visit London and always felt more at home here then in America. So at the tender age of 25 I decided to move back.
But British passport be damned, as far as the Brits are concerned (certain government bodies included), I’m American. So although I can live here indefinitely, I have gone and am going through the same experiences as many of you.
So for those thinking about coming over, I have several resources to help you out including visa information, neighbourhood profiles and banking details. For those who are FOP (fresh off the plane), I have really useful tips about understanding British culture, using public transport and understanding British (yes they really say toilet instead of bathroom!). For those of us that have been here for a while, I offer news about what’s going on in the city as well as an opportunity to share information with the newbies. (Trust me, the neighbourhood spotlight doesn’t write itself!)
Enjoy!
